Taste of Cardiff 2015

ITaste of Cardiff 2015 know this is Cinco de Mayo week, but personally I am really looking forward to The 6th Annual Taste of Cardiff this Thursday May 7, from 5-8pm. (Buy Tickets Here)

It is being organized by Cardiff 101 Main Street and if you’ve never been then you should know it’s the perfect opportunity to immerse yourself in the amazing culinary vibe and culture while spending the evening strolling through the superb coastal community.

I have been a huge fan of Cardiff-By-The-Sea since the late 70’s when I was renting an apartment on Montgomery. Back then all that was there was VG’s Donuts, and at the time we were pretty satisfied with just that. Since then it’s really expanded in a very positive way with having a wide variety places to enjoy including restaurants, cafes, tasting rooms, and shops/ storefronts.

Some of my family’s notable favorites are Seaside Market, Dirty Dogs, Besta Wan Pizza, Sambazon Acai and Wine Steals. My sons (a.k.a. the beer drinkers) are particularly excited to visit the new Lost Abbey tasting room, which just opened a tasting room next to East Coast Pizza.

With all that being said, what I may love most about Cardiff is the people and the sense of community there. It’s small town, coastal California at it’s finest.Cardiff Sunset

So look for me at the Taste of Cardiff event this Thursday hanging out near Seaside Market (I’m really hoping they’ll be giving tastings of “Cardiff Crack”; but if not I’ll be buying a few pounds anyways because I’m addicted to it 🙂
