While expecting our first child, my husband and I decided to leave the beach to settle in Rancho Santa Fe. Janet became instrumental in our search; her knowledge of the Ranch is only surpassed by her eagerness to serve her clients. Personable and fair, Janet went above and beyond for our family, showing an uncanny ability to think outside of the box and to get things done.”Amy Meier
My husband and I have worked with Janet on the purchase and sale of different homes in Rancho Santa Fe. Janet’s marketing skills are exception and she works tirelessly to find the right qualified buyers for each property. She is an asset to her profession, and our community.
If there is any person who loves what they do more than Janet, I have not met them in the 10 years I have lived in Rancho Santa Fe. Her professionalism, attention to detail & enthusiasm make her the perfect agent to help you buy or sell a home. She truly wants what is best for her clients and will work tirelessly on their behalf.
I have retained Janet on several occasions to lead my investment and home needs in the real estate area. Without qualification she gets my endorsement. You will be well served with the domain expertise and experience that she brings to the table.
I have purchased 11 residence homes across the country thus far in my life. I consider myself to be well informed and experienced in all steps of the process. Janet’s local knowledge of the market, relationships with members of the community, and business skill in dealing with all involved in the close on my purchase in Rancho Santa Fe made this experience enjoyable and rewarding. Additionally, Janet and her husband, Charlie have become friends and a couple that my wife and I truly look forward to seeing socially.
Thank you so much for your support and effort in helping us find our beautiful new home. You were always available for showings and didn’t waste our time up front, because you knew the questions to ask to find what was important to us in buying our home. You handled every obstacle like a true professional and were able to negotiate a great deal for us. I would not hesitate to recommend you to anyone we know. Thanks again for everything!
We have purchased and sold 15 houses in our lifetime, and we must say that Janet is absolutely the best real estate agent we have ever used. Her team is truly committed to their client’s satisfaction and happiness. Her enthusiasm and energy are amazing and beyond the call.
We met Janet when we stumbled into the Coldwell Banker office in the Rancho Santa Fe Village, but it didn’t take long to feel like we could really trust her. Janet is not only an agent but a force in the Rancho Santa Fe community and at the Rancho Santa Fe Country Club & Golf Course. She showed us firsthand the wonderful lifestyle that the “Ranch” has to offer.

A mutual interior designer friend referred me to Janet Lawless Christ. I’m so glad he did! My experience with her was exceptional, from our first meeting to the close of escrow. Before the first open house, I took her suggestion to have the property pre-inspected to discover any issues that might hold up a sale and she provided feedback on small changes that might cause a buyer to think twice.
Janet held multiple open houses, filmed a marketing video, and broadcast it to her social media network and private emailing list. I was shocked that the first offer was within weeks of listing and was within my acceptability range, and was pleasantly surprised that everything went so smoothly. Janet really focused on closing the sale with all parties feeling they got the most from the efforts.
It was past the time to sell our home. We had lived on that property for over 40 years and had removed the old house and built a new one there 35 years ago. We raised our 3 children there and loved it, but they were gone and we were aging. Lillian had developed a dementia and I had gone beyond 75 years of age but was still working. Two acres of land was too much for us to use, care for or even enjoy. And, of course, we would have to find a new home. So I called a patient of mine who ran a major real estate group in La Jolla, CA.
“Hey Jeff”, I said “Who would you recommend in Rancho Santa Fe?”
“Janet Lawless Christ”, he responded before I could finish my question.
Physicians are not easy to deal with. We like to be in charge. We think we know more than we really do. We ask lots of questions that cannot be answered. We are demanding. We think we know something about money but we know very little. We think we understand everything about every thing. Once the value of this home was about 50% more than it was at that moment. We don’t really want to be realistic.
Janet responded to our phone calls and sat down we me, my wife, and Jeff (my son from LA who is an attorney). I am glad my son was there because he showed me that attorneys can be more obnoxious than physicians. She did a beautiful job outlining how things would evolve and we went on. We fixed some things in the house and did some painting. We developed a scheme for storing some of our furniture. Pictures were taken and the house went on the market. And we started looking for a new place.
Fortunately, the realistic price she set for us worked. Fortunately, we had a good relationship with Wells-Fargo. Fortunately, there was a condo 1.7 miles from our house with a wonderful view. Fortunately, Janet knew a good mover. Our daughter came from Colorado to help us pack. I learned how to pack. And Janet’s husband and Janet helped us pack. We moved and the new buyer is happy with the house.
Moving is difficult emotionally but with a warm, caring and knowledgable person like Janet Lawless Christ around, it was do-able. We are grateful for her everyday.”
On the subject of Janet Lawless Christ as a realtor and professional in her trade, I consider myself well qualified to provide a honest and precise evaluation of her skills and talents.
From the first day I met her, she presented herself to be and individual you could rely on to take you through the sometimes trying ordeal of purchasing or selling a home. I say home, because she will ensure that your many personal requirements for what makes a home are considered and met for your transaction.
During the days of viewing properties, she tuned herself into what it was I was looking for in a home, and helped me to find it. Her wise counsel led me to making an offer on my dream home, and that fair and reasonable offer was accepted without counter. During the escrow process she was there for me in answering any and all of my questions. She also assisted me several times in the necessary paperwork transportation of escrow, which my current employment would not allow me to do personally. She also assisted me in several property viewings whcih I needed to fully assess the details of my new potential residence. Upon closing, which was on time as scheduled, she was there. Handing me the keys to my new home with her wonderful reassuring smile, and a much needed hug.
If I sound high on Janet Lawless Christ, I am. She came to my rescue during a time in my personal life when I had just about every life stressor in the book. If you desire a professional above reproach. Someone who will identify areas of concern and anticipate problems. A caring individual who will be there for you in tough time. Then there is only one choice.
I am Dale A. Jensen, a very satisfied, happy client of the best realtor on the planet, Janet Lawless Christ.
It must have been my lucky day when I listed my house with Janet Lawless Christ. She didn’t just put my house on lock box and rely on brokers seeing it on the multiple listing service. She SOLD my house by bringing buyers and brokers to the house in carefully arranged circumstances.
The result was multiple offers and a good selling price within three weeks of the “for sale” sign going up.
Janet guided me through every step of the process, including the offers and counteroffers, the multiple inspections, the paperwork, and all the negotiations. Her knowledge of the market is only exceeded by her truly caring attitude. I learned to rely on her advice, trust her instincts, and appreciate her charm.
When we started searching for a new home, Janet was equally hard working, astute and caring. She told me that three things were important to her. She wanted a house that would suit my family, one with good resale value, and one I was happy with. All three goals were achieved, although it took a lot of work on her part.
She held my hand every step of the way. She made me feel valued and important. The result was two smooth transactions, and I learned a lot about real estate.
